Overall, I really like this keyboard. The Q1 HE does everything right on the user's end, especially if you’re looking for a quality keyboard straight out of the box. It has some practical flaws, but those don’t matter if you like the default typing experience. The keyboard feels good, sounds good, and has customization options that are unique, practical, and incredibly in-depth.

The Keychron Q1 HE is an impressive gaming keyboard. Its excellent overall build quality and amazing raw performance make it suitable for gaming in all genres at any competitive level. Its analog Hall effect switches provide a high degree of customizability, letting you adjust individual keys' actuation and reset distance. You can fine-tune these and other expected settings using the web-based software. Unfortunately, the sound and feel of the stabilizers on larger keys are somewhat inconsistent, and while this keyboard has full RGB backlighting, you can't read the legends in darker rooms as the stock keycaps aren't shine-through, and the LEDs are South-facing.

Overall, the Keychron Q1 HE is a good mechanical keyboard. It offers a custom keyboard experience, including the full aluminum case and lubed switches. It feels good to use and has a good sound profile. The stabilizers left something to be desired at this price, and the “back to basics” style of the keycaps just isn’t very exciting. I do like that it’s all programmable through a web app, though, and it nails the Hall Effect programming.

The Keychron Q1 HE offers one of the best typing experiences you can get, with magnetic hall effect switches offering customizable actuation points and a smooth key press. Paired with excellent dampening, this is a very quiet keyboard, with top-tier build quality and plenty of customization options.

Build on everything great about the Q1 Pro and adds gaming functionality with excellent hall effect magnetic switches. If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard that excels in productivity and gaming, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better option.
