Lenovo's Legion Go is an impressive first crack at a handheld PC game console. The large QHD screen impresses, but many of its unique features ultimately hold it back from must-buy status.

Lenovo has tried. It's made Windows slightly less cumbersome. The trackpad, FPS mode, and detachable controllers are all genuine value-adds. If you’re willing to fiddle with settings and deal with UI jank, the Legion Go is probably the best Windows option right now. But if you want something that just works, get a Switch or Steam Deck.

The sturdy kickstand is a welcome addition, but the high resolution won't work for all games, and a software learning curve makes it much more complicated than the Nintendo Switch it sort of emulates.
